It appears Nick Sirianni is safe, but the Eagles are set to make more significant changes to their coaching staff after their second-half collapse and playoff embarrassment.

The Eagles announced Monday that Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman will hold an end-of-season press conference Wednesday, indicating that Sirianni, 42, will return for a fourth season as Philadelphia’s head coach.

However, there will be more major changes to his staff as offensive coordinator Brian Johnson is expected to be fired, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday.

That news comes a day after the Eagles fired defensive coordinator Sean Desai, who already lost play-calling duties to Matt Patricia during the season; Patricia will reportedly leave the team as his contract ran out.

The Athletic reported Sunday that the Eagles reached out to recently departed Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale in their search to replace Desai.

ESPN reported Monday that the Eagles are interviewing fired Commanders coach Ron Rivera and fired Jaguars coordinator Mike Caldwell.

Johnson, 36, has interviewed for the Falcons and Titans head coaching jobs, but according to The Athletic, he’s no longer a candidate for the Panthers job.

After reaching the Super Bowl last year, the Eagles lost offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, who became the Colts head coach, and defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, whom the Cardinals hired as their head coach.

Despite playing a lot of close games, the Eagles got off to a 10-1 start, but they lost five of their last six games before getting pummeled 32-9 by the Buccaneers in the wild-card round.

The Eagles failed to crack 20 points during a three-game losing streak last month against the 49ers, Cowboys and Seahawks, and Johnson was a frequent target of Eagles fans’ ire for the stagnant offense.

Jalen Hurts, who dealt with a suspected knee problem, threw a career-high 15 interceptions.

The Eagles also lost to the Buccaneers in the 2021 wild-card round during Sirianni’s first season as the Eagles coach.
