Joe Flacco can’t escape criticism, even from the comforts of home.
The Ravens quarterback said last week he received pushback from wife Dana for showing a lack of enthusiasm when he lines up as a wide receiver in formations in which rookie signal-caller Lamar Jackson takes the snap.
“My wife gave me crap the one day, told me I need to look more interested out there,” Flacco said Wednesday, according to ESPN. “But I’m trying to stay out of it. I’m not comfortable out there. I don’t need to get too creative.”
Clearly, his wife’s criticism changed nothing. Watch Flacco stand like a statue during Jackson’s 22-yard run in the Ravens’ 28-0 win over the Titans.
As one fan aptly put it, Flacco is doing his best “Jay Cutler impression.”
“You can see me. I’m out there just standing,” the one-time Super Bowl champ said. “I really just try to stay out of the way of everything. That’s what I’m told to do. That’s what I’m doing.”
