Say this about Patriots fans: While they can be delusional, they’re certainly devoted.

On Tuesday afternoon, four Patriots fans, including David Portnoy, the so-called “presidente” of the Boston-based Barstool Sports blog, staged a sit-in in the lobby of the NFL offices in protest of Tom Brady’s suspension and the severe team penalties handed down Monday by the league.

The “protest” started innocently enough, with picket signs and chants of “Free Brady!” The civilly disobedient bunch demanded to speak with commissioner Roger Goodell.

Soon, the fans — decked out in Brady jerseys and other Pats gear — advanced inside, and building security summoned the NYPD.

The air came out of the scene when the Patriots dissenters were led outside in handcuffs and taken to the NYPD’s Central Booking, where they likely will be kept overnight.
