Odell Beckham Jr. wants the New York Giants and everyone else to see that he knows his Cleveland Browns history.
The former New York Giants receiver was rocking out a Jim Brown throwback jersey in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night in Oakland, Calif. He also found time to give a shout out to ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” saying he was “just trying to witness greatness.”
Beckham got to “witness” Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors rolling past the Warriors 105-92 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Toronto will look to clinch at home on Monday night.
Despite the show of Browns love, Beckham hasn’t completely moved on from the Giants. The 26-year-old mercurial receiver took an indirect jab at Giants quarterback Eli Manning while talking to reporters during Wednesday’s minicamp.
“Just catching [passes from Baker Mayfield] from the first day it was like, ‘This is different,’ ” said Beckham, who infamously took public shots at Manning’s ability under center a year ago.
Nevertheless, Browns fans won’t care a bit if Beckham still misses New York as long as he can put together a career in Cleveland that is even as half as good as the legendary Brown.
