Losing Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles was a tough pill to swallow for Giants fans.

And Barkley now winning the Super Bowl with the Eagles in his first year certainly just made it even more difficult for Big Blue and its fans.

Following the Super Bowl victory, a fellow former Giants superstar had a message for Barkley, reminiscing on the running back’s time with the G-Men.

Accompanying Beckham’s words is a graphic featuring the Lombardi Trophy and two versions of Barkley: the Eagles’ Barkley and Giants’ Barkley.

Beckham also has a Super Bowl ring from his lone season with the Los Angeles Rams.

While the post has a heartwarming feel between the 2018 teammates, Giants fans may feel a little differently seeing their former Pro Bowlers bask in their post-New York success.

Giant for life,” was often a phrase Barkley floated around during his tenure with the team that drafted him, but ultimately he wound up heading South on the New Jersey turnpike to return to the state where he played his college football with Penn State.

After six seasons with the Giants, Barkley elected to sign a three-year $37.75 million contract with the rival Eagles.

After just one playoff appearance in those six years, it took just a season to trump all that time spent with the Giants.

Some fans may have a distaste toward Barkley for his decision to leave the Giants, while others may have that feeling toward the organization itself for not doing more to retain him.

Whether salty or supportive of Barkley, his time in blue remains a memorable stepping stone in his career en route to his Super Bowl win.

“My message to Giants fans would be, ‘It’s nothing but love,’” Barkley said. “I’d be naive to think that they weren’t supportive to me over the last six years. Obviously a few of them were disappointed with my decision, but the way I look at it, all the things that happened over there and the love I have for them is the reason that I’m able to have the success I’m having now.”
