It appears the Giants’ two biggest offensive weapons are fast friends.
Rookie Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr. were filmed at practice Friday juggling a football back and forth like soccer players.
Beckham’s skills stood out especially, as the wide receiver chested the pigskin at one point before passing the ball back to his new bud. His talents in other sports should not come as a surprise. Beckham cracked a few homers during batting practice with the Yankees and Rays in June.
Beckham and Barkley’s soccer session appeared to be a nice respite from the grind of training camp, which began earlier this week for the Giants. The team is hoping their relationship blossoms on and off the field.
Barkley, believed by many to be the top prospect in this year’s draft, was taken second overall. Beckham is coming off a season ravaged by injury and had already begun the process of landing a lucrative long-term contract with the Giants.
