This is likely a rumor Odell Beckham Jr. has never heard about himself.

Even before pulling down a team-high four catches for 74 yards and one touchdown in the Browns’ win over the Bengals Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cleveland management has no plans to trade the wide receiver, with one source telling the website the rumors are “totally not true.”

Speculation surrounding the possibility of the Browns shopping Beckham, 27, began to pile up following their blowout loss to the Ravens in the season opener when former WFAN host Mike Francesa floated a trade rumor on Twitter. But just as the Browns vehemently denied during the offseason that Beckham was up for discussion, ESPN confirms that the organization still has no plans to entertain anything regarding the three-time Pro Bowler. This after Schefter’s ESPN colleague Dianna Russini said on “Get Up” that “there were definitely serious conversations” during the offseason about the Browns trading Beckham.

After recording just three catches for 22 yards in the 38-6 loss to Baltimore, Beckham bounced back against Cincinnati Thursday and registered a 43-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

“I thought we made the most of our playmakers’ abilities,” Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield said of Beckham, who entered the 2020 season with four years remaining on the record-setting $95 million contract he signed with the Giants in 2018. “I’m surrounded by talent. I want to get the ball in their hands.”
