The Packers wasted no time finding their guy.
Green Bay is set to hire former Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon as its defensive coordinator after Jeff Hafley departed the organization to become head coach of the Dolphins, according to multiple reports on Sunday.
Gannon served as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator from 2021 to 2022 before taking the top job with the Cardinals in 2023. He was fired earlier this month after three losing seasons in Arizona.

Gannon also interviewed for the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator job and the Commanders’ defense job.
The Cardinals’ defense struggled under Gannon, allowing 28.7 points per game in 2025, ranking 29th in the league.

Parsons went down with a torn ACL before the playoffs in December.
Still, the Packers had one of the top defensive units in the NFL for most of the season, ranking in the top 10 in defensive DVOA before injuries slowly picked away at their unit.

As for Hafley, he will succeed Mike McDaniel in Miami. The opportunity with the Dolphins marks Hafley’s first head coaching job.
