Sam Darnold is still thinking it over.
The former Jets quarterback, traded to the Carolina Panthers this offseason, told reporters he has yet to get the COVID-19 vaccine — and might not, at all.
“There’s a ton of different things that go into it,” Darnold said. “I’m gonna evaluate that on my own and make the best decision that I feel is the best for myself.”
NFL players are not required to get vaccinated, though teams that reach a threshold (85 percent) can relax protocols.
Darnold is far from alone in holding off on getting the jab, which has led to a large drop in cases across the country and is considered highly effective.
Washington’s Montez Sweat told media he’s not willing to get vaccinated.
“I’m not a fan of it,” Sweat said after Washington’s vaccine information session. “I probably won’t get vaccinated until I get more facts and all that type (of) stuff. I’m not a fan of it at all.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen was on record as debating getting shots in April, though he has not spoken on the topic since.
