Patrick Mahomes continues to make history, even off the football field.

On Wednesday, PWCC Marketplace sold a Mahomes football trading card for a record $4.3 million, shattering the old record of $3.1 million, set in June by a Tom Brady rookie card. 

Mahomes himself was blown away by the multi-million dollar transaction. 

“The 2017 National Treasures NFL Shield Patrick Mahomes Rookie is truly a piece of art and we are honored to add this card to our collection,” LJ’s Card Shop, which bought the card in a private sale, said in a statement.

The particular Mahomes card is the only one in existence of its kind and is autographed by the Chiefs quarterback.
