Patrick Mahomes believes a new NFL dynasty can develop outside of New England.

During a recent appearance on KCSP 610 Sports Radio, the 25-year-old quarterback weighed in on what it would take for the Chiefs to replicate the success of the Patriots’ reign with Tom Brady.

“Yeah, I mean it’s going to take everybody in the organization, top-down, to do something like that,” Mahomes said. “If you watch how they run their organization, how they run their football team, how they’re coached, how they play… they give 120 percent every single rep, every single practice. That’s what we have to try to do, try to strive for. That’s why it doesn’t happen a lot in the NFL — it’s because you can’t have that culture every single year it seems like.”

In his 20 years with the Patriots, Brady celebrated six Super Bowl championships with coach Bill Belichick, most recently in 2019 after defeating the Los Angeles Rams.

In March, Brady departed New England for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while former Carolina Panthers quarterback, Cam Newton, is now under center for the Patriots.

Mahomes, who is entering his fourth NFL season, has one Super Bowl title under his belt with coach Andy Reid. After signing a 10-year, $503 million contract extension with Kansas City, the father-to-be says and he and the Chiefs are going to strive to give it their all “week-by-week, day-by-day.

“But I think Coach Reid has built a great culture here, and we’re just gonna take it week-by-week, day-by-day, and try to get the best out of each other every single day” he said. “And then when we look back at the end of our careers, we’ll have no regrets because we know that we left everything we had out there on the field and in the media room…”

The 3-0 Chiefs are off to a hot start this season, with Mahomes throwing four touchdown passes in Monday’s win over the Baltimore Ravens. They’ll face Belichick and the Newton-led Patriots on Sunday in Kansas City.
