The Patriots will cut former Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, according to several reports on Tuesday.

Seferian-Jenkins, who suited up with Gang Green in 2016 and 2017, will be taking a month off to deal with some personal issues, though there is no indication he’ll return to New England at that point. He signed with the Patriots last month.

Moving on from the 26-year-old means the Patriots will continue to look for a replacement tight end to fill Rob Gronkowski’s cleats. The recently retired star maintains he’s finished with the NFL despite constant rumors and some coy answers, and the team has long been connected with a possible Kyle Rudolph trade.

New England did bring back veteran Ben Watson to help fill the void, though his four-game suspension over a banned substance leaves the team looking even thinner at the position.
