It looks like the Patriots won’t have to go without their starting quarterback any longer.
Cam Newton was removed from the NFL’s COVID-19 list on Wednesday and is expected to rejoin the team at practice on Thursday, according to ESPN, which should allow him to start Sunday’s contest against the Broncos.
Newton has been out since testing positive for the virus on Oct. 3, but he will have missed just one game, against the Chiefs, after the last Patriots game was postponed due to positive tests.
The Patriots had been off the last three days after their most recent positive test, by defensive tackle Byron Cowart. Without Newton, the Patriots fell to the Chiefs 26-10 on Oct. 5 with veteran Brian Hoyer starting in place of Newton.
