Bill Belichick has never been one for style, but his team is trusting the odds to make its Super Bowl jersey selection.

The mind games began Tuesday, when the Patriots announced they will wear their road white jerseys as the home team against the Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

The team that has donned white jerseys has won 12 of the last 13 Super Bowls — the Packers winning Super Bowl XLV being the lone exception. The Patriots fit into that mold, going 3-0 while wearing white jerseys in the big game under Belichick. They were wearing their home navy blue jerseys in each of their Super Bowl losses to the Giants.

The Patriots also were wearing their whites when they beat the green-clad Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX. The only time they lost the title game wearing white was when they fell to the Packers in XXXI.
