Despite being under contract with the Jets for this season, Williams changed his Twitter bio to identify him as a “Defensive Tackle for ……………….”
It doesn’t take much reading between the lines to see that Williams is unhappy with the state of negotiations on his contract extension, especially when Williams’ last tweet highlights the details of four-year, $90 million ($60 million guaranteed) extension signed by fellow defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence with the Giants.

It sometimes precedes a trade request.
An extension between Williams and the Jets should be relatively painless given three comparable stud defensive tackles have reached extensions this offseason.
Daron Payne (Commanders), Jeffery Simmons (Titans) and Lawrence all signed four-year deals worth between $21.8 million and $23.5 million per year with between $59 million and $60 million guaranteed.
