Did Aaron Donald retire?

The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year appeared to update his Twitter bio on Sunday afternoon during Super Wild Card Weekend, suggesting he was no longer a Los Angeles Ram.

Minutes later, he quickly updated the bio once more, back to what it was previously.

There were rumors about the 31-year-old Donald retiring prior to this past season, which would’ve happened after winning last year’s Super Bowl with the Rams.

He reportedly even sent in his retirement papers before agreeing to a massive raise, which included $95 million over three seasons — the first of which concluded last week. He was originally set to make $55 million over the three-year period. The deal made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport.

The Rams went on to be one of the NFL’s most disappointing teams this season, going 5-12. Donald had five sacks in 11 games played.
