The Giants were interested in acquiring DT John Henderson from the Jaguars before and after the draft, but they are no lock to sign him now that he is a free agent.
Jacksonville released Henderson on Monday and he is on the Giants radar, according to ESPN.com.
Henderson’s agent, Tim McGee, told NJ.com that the Giants “are a player, but I’m not sure how serious of a player.”
The Giants’ interest may have soured some after they drafted another defensive tackle, Linval Joseph, in the second round.
The Chiefs cancelled a visit with Henderson, and the Falcons have said they are not interested.
According to NFL.com, the Giants were also in talks to deal DT Barry Cofield to the Saints during the draft, but that fell through.
