Maybe Rex Ryan really does prefer Kellen Clemens or Brett Ratliff.

SI.com’s Peter King reports that the Jets never made a serious offer to the Broncos in an attempt to trade for Jay Cutler.

King doesn’t cite a source, but says the team either likes the QBs it already has, “or the Jets think the New York spotlight would have been too white-hot for a rabbit-ears guy like Cutler to handle, or they didn’t want to pay two first-round picks for Cutler …”

Ryan has been steadfast in his support for Clemens and Ratliff thie entire offseason.
