The New Orleans Times Picayune reports that Saints coach Sean Payton “still desperately wants [Jeremy Shockey] to be wearing a black-and-gold uniform this season.”

Trade talks involving Shockey in the days leading up to the NFL Draft did not result in a deal. But Jimmy Smith writes, “Don’t be surprised if the trade is finalized in the coming weeks.”
