Will Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis play against the Vikings Monday?

Revis said yesterday that, as long as he doesn’t suffer a setback with his injured left hamstring in today’s final practice before the game, he’ll play.

Asked if, the way he felt yesterday, he could have played in a game, Revis said, “I think I could play right now; there would be no doubt. I haven’t had any tweaks the past two practices and I’ve been running full speed. So as of (yesterday) I could play.’’

Rex Ryan, who revealed a day ago that the doctors have cleared Revis to play, still cast some slight doubt on whether his best defensive player will be on the field because, he said, Revis “hasn’t told me that he’s 100-percent yet.’’

“The doctors and trainers feel good, but until the player says, ‘Hey, I’m ready to go,’ there is that doubt,’’ Ryan said yesterday. “I feel pretty confident he’ll play. I hope he does.’’

Revis said he wants to wait until tomorrow or even Monday before making the final call.

“The best bet for me is to take it day-by-day and wait until Sunday or even Monday to talk to (Ryan) and let those guys know,’’ Revis said. “But as of right now, I’m preparing myself to battle against the Minnesota Vikings. We’re just trying to be very cautious about the whole situation.’’

Asked if Revis plays that he might be limited and not play Vikings new WR Randy Moss man-to-man, Ryan said, “If he’s ready to play he’s ready to play (fully).’’

Jets linebacker Calvin Pace is ready to make his season debut after missing the first four games with a broken bone in his right foot.

“I’m going to be excited and a little nervous,’’ Pace said today. “I just want to get out there and play. I’m ready.’’

The players who were limited in practice today were DE Shaun Ellis (knee), T Wayne Hunter (leg), C Nick Mangold (shoulder) and LB Jamaal Westerman (ankle). RG Brandon Moore was added to the list with a hamstring injury, though Ryan said, “He’s played in 100-something games in a row. He’ll play. He’s fine.’’ It looks like the only player of that group that won’t play is Westerman.

Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his performance last week against the Bills. … Rex Ryan is scheduled to drop the puck for the Islanders’ home opener Saturday night at Nassau Coliseum.

As news trickled out that Brett Favre has some tendinitis in his throwing elbow, none of the Jets seemed concerned that would hinder him.

“Brett’s played 20 years in this league. Trust me, he has tendinitis in more places than his elbow,’’ Jets LB Jason Taylor said.

“OK, he can’t throw it 100 miles per hour; he ca throw it only 95 miles per hour,’’ Ryan said. “I’ll believe (Favre is hurt) when I see it.’’

Jets LB Calvin Pace said the news that injured NT Kris Jenkins (ACL knee surgery) wants to make a comeback next year was welcome.

“I truly feel if you feel like you can still play keep playing,’’ Pace said. “I’m sure everyone in this organization wants him back. He came back the first time (last year) and I’m sure he can do it again.’’

Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff revealed yesterday that he called Miami special teams coach John Bonamego after he was fired the day after the Dolphins’ Monday night loss to the Patriots in which there were several major special teams gaffes.

Westhoff called the firing “disappointing,’’ adding, “That (a poor performance) has happened to all of us.’’ Westhoff, who said he isn’t even close to Bonamego, said he called because “I’m the guy to do it. I’ve been around the longest.’’

Ryan yesterday had high praise, couple with a hint of sarcasm, for his defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.

When asked what Pettine brings to the staff, Ryan said, “Not much. I just want to say that because I don’t want him going (hired by another team). We’re probably going to lose Schotty (offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer). I don’t want to lose Pettine, so I’m not even going to talk about Mike Pettine. He’s a problem. For any organization, he’s a major problem.’

Turning serious, Ryan, who loves to pump up his assistant coaches since he was one for so long, called Pettine “the brightest young defensive coordinator in the league.’’

“One day, we’ll definitely lose him,’’ Ryan said. “And you know what? He’ll deserve it. After we win the Super Bowl you can have him. We will lose him at some point, without question. He has head coaching aspirations, I’m sure. And if he doesn’t, he should have them. He’s got that kind of talent. He’s much smarter than I am. It won’t be long. He won’t be here that long. He should rent instead of buy.’’
