Rex Ryan’s first NFL regular-season broadcast will make history — but it will have nothing to do with the former Jets and Bills coach.

ESPN broadcaster Beth Mowins will become just the second woman to call an NFL game when she and Ryan are expected do the Sept. 11 Broncos-Chargers game, SI.com reported. It will be the late game on “Monday Night Football.”

The first woman was Gayle Sierens, who called an NFL game for NBC Sports on Dec. 27, 1987. She was offered six more games for the following season, but her local NBC station didn’t want her to miss work, so she never called another game.

Ryan and Mowins called the Florida State spring game together in April. When he was the Bills head coach, Ryan hired Kathryn Smith to be the first female NFL assistant coach in January 2016.
