The secretive Patriots admit it: Rob Gronkowski has a concussion.
New England’s star tight end was listed on the team’s initial injury report ahead of Super Bowl LII against the Eagles on Feb. 4 in Minnesota.
It’s the first time the Patriots said Gronkowski suffered a concussion. He was knocked out of the Patriots’ 24-20 AFC Championship win over the Jaguars on Sunday after he took a big hit from safety Barry Church late in the second quarter. He was able to get to his feet but was wobbly.
Gronkowski was at the team facility Monday but did not speak to reporters. According to ESPN, teammate Matthew Slater said Gronkowski was in “pretty good spirits” when they talked.
