Roger Goodell really must have missed not getting booed in person last year.

The NFL Draft returned to being a live event Thursday night after last year’s showcase was a virtual event, with the NFL commissioner announcing the picks from the basement of his New York home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Goodell took the stage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and immediately egged on the fans to continue booing him once the first smattering began.

“There ya go, come on! Welcome to the 2021 NFL Draft,” a smiling Goodell declared, while motioning to the crowd. “Come on! Come on, Cleveland! I didn’t come out of my basement for nothing. Let’s go! Come on!”

Goodell was joined on stage by current Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry and team legends Bernie Kosar and Joe Thomas. The chair from his home that Goodell sat on throughout last year’s draft also was on the stage.
