Steve Serby breaks down all 31 picks (sorry, Pats) made during Thursday’s NFL draft:
1. Rams (from Titans)
Jared Goff, QB, California: Quarterback-challenged Jeff Fisher will be happy if the draft’s most pro-ready QB turns out to be another Matt Ryan.
2. Eagles (from Browns)
Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State: Jeffrey Lurie is hoping that when he gets a look at his strapping QB of the future in 2017, he sees Andrew Luck Lite.
3. Chargers
Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State: Pro-ready, 6-foot-5, 269-pound pass rusher with violent hands and relentless motor who reminds some of Jared Allen or Ryan Kerrigan for an ailing defense.
4. Cowboys
Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State: A complete back some consider the best prospect since Adrian Peterson — or maybe Todd Gurley — to run behind that offensive line the way DeMarco Murray did and take the heat off Tony Romo and Dez Bryant.
5. Jaguars
Jalen Ramsey, CB-S, Florida State: A 6-1, 209-pound difference-maker who defines athletic arrogance. May start as big press corner but be better suited as free safety with amazing range on rapidly improving defense.
6. Ravens
Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame: This dancing bear left tackle reminds some of Tyron Smith and the 6-6, 312-pounder will protect Joe Flacco better than Eugene Monroe.
7. 49ers
DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon: A 6-7, 291-pound dual threat menace who can slide inside. Biggest Duck Chip Kelly ever saw reunited with Arik Armstead, last year’s first-round pick.
8. Titans (from Browns)
Jack ConklinAPJack Conklin, OT, Michigan State: Throwback mauler and former walk-on who can step right in on the right side and be a 6-5, 310-pound bookend protector for Marcus Mariota opposite Taylor Lewan.
9. Bears (from Bucs)
Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia: A 6-5, 244-pound Aldon Smith clone with rare ability to bend off the edge who would have looked good in Giants blue, but remember that Bears coach John Fox drafted Von Miller in Denver.
10. Giants
Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State: Best Available Eli. Long, tall, 20-year-old corner who needs to improve skills with ball in air. Replacement for Prince Amukamara this season and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie later.
11. Buccaneers (from Bears)
Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida: A 5-10, 204-pound playmaker considered draft’s best cover corner by some. He replaces Brent Grimes in 2017.
12. Saints
Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville: Reminds some of Aaron Donald, and this is a defense in desperate need of a disrupter.
13. Dolphins
Laremy Tunsil, OT, Mississippi: Miami is hoping Tunsil’s bong hits are a thing of the past, and he protects QB Ryan Tannehill, who was sacked 45 times last season.
14. Raiders
Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia: Charles Woodson’s retirement left a hole in the Oakland secondary, and Joseph is a natural replacement.
15. Browns (from Titans)
Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor: With Josh Gordon’s availability always a question mark, Coleman (20 TDs in 2015) offers Cleveland a desperately needed weapon at receiver.
16. Lions
Taylor DeckerUPITaylor Decker, OT, Ohio State: Matthew Stafford will need extra time in the pocket now that Megatron is gone.
17. Falcons
Keanu Neal, S, Florida: A vicious hitter who replaces William Moore and reminds some of Kenny Vaccaro.
18. Colts
Ryan Kelly, C, Alabama: A 10-year starter as Andrew Luck’s quarterback of the offensive line.
19. Bills
Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson: Rex Ryan taps into his Clemson connection to replace Mario Williams with this warrior.
20. Jets
Darron Lee, LB, Ohio State: An uber-athletic 232-pound run-and-chase linebacker who adds much-needed speed to Todd Bowles’ defense.
21. Texans (from Redskins)
Will Fuller, WR, Notre Dame: A 4.33 burner with the dropsies to complement DeAndre Hopkins for Brock Osweiler.
22. Redskins (from Texans)
Josh Doctson, WR, TCU: An acrobatic target with terrific ball skills for Kirk Cousins with DeSean Jackson and/or Pierre Garcon likely to leave after 2016.
23. Vikings
Laquon Treadwell, WR, Mississippi: Teddy Bridgewater gets a possession receiver and Anquan Boldin clone.
24. Bengals
William Jackson III, CB, Houston: Darqueze Dennard is coming off shoulder surgery, Dre Kirkpatrick could be an unrestricted free agent after the season and this is a corner with 4.3 speed the Steelers wanted.
25. Steelers
Artie BurnsAPArtie Burns, CB, Miami (Fla.): First cornerback selected in the first round by the Steelers since Chad Scott in 1997, but instincts have been questioned.
26. Broncos (from Seahawks)
Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis: Guess Mark Sanchez will be looking over his shoulder at John Elway’s 6-7 quarterback of the future.
27. Packers
Kenny Clark, DT, UCLA: Versatile power player with upside needed with B.J. Raji gone.
28. 49ers (from Chiefs)
Joshua Garnett, G, Stanford: Will be a godsend for RB Carlos Hyde given his point-of-attack dominance, not to mention whoever plays quarterback.
29. Cardinals
Robert Nkemdiche, DT, Mississippi: Top-five talent who slid because of character concerns, but Bruce Arians fears no challenge.
30. Panthers
Vernon Butler, DT, Louisiana Tech: Best available 7-foot wingspan and hog mollie for GM Dave Gettleman to help keep blockers off Luke Kuechly.
31. Seahawks
Germain Ifedi, OT, Texas A&M: Athletically gifted but raw replacement for either tackle Russell Okung or guard J.R. Sweezy.
