He has a deal.

Quarterback Russell Wilson announced he and the Seahawks have come to a contract agreement in video posted to his Twitter account early Tuesday morning. It is a 4-year, $140 million extension in new money and includes a $65 million signing bonus, according to ESPN. It makes Wilson the NFL’s highest-paid player.

“Hey Seattle, we got a deal,” the five-time Pro Bowler said while cuddling in bed with wife Ciara at a little before 1 a.m. Pacific Time. Both he and his wife said “Go Hawks” before heading to sleep.

“I’m going to see y’all in the morning,” Wilson said. “Time for y’all to go to bed.”

He and agent Mark Rodgers had set an April 15 deadline as the last change to address a new contract for Wilson, who was entering the final year of his current deal.
