It looks like Jets starting safety Brodney Pool will finally make his debut with the team Sunday against the Patriots.
Pool, who was held out of Monday’s game against the Ravens with his sprained ankle still not completely right, practiced full today, which points to him playing this week.
When Pool said he couldn’t cut well enough in pregame warm-ups, the coaches decided to keep him inactive for the game, starting Eric Smith.

Today also marked a return to the Jets by David Clowney, who was signed on Wednesday as the team’s fourth receiver. It’ll be interesting to see what special teams Clowney plays on considering the fact that special teams coach Mike Westhoff last week said he had no use for Clowney and that he’d have cut him two years ago.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick today revealed that he watched some of the HBO series “Hard Knocks’’ series featuring the Jets training camp, saying, “I just caught a very little bit of it.”
While he typically downplayed it, Belichick didn’t deny trying to glean any information about the Jets from the show, something Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron claimed he did.
“I think the best thing for us is to just do a good job with our preparation and there are always little things you can learn from all different sources, whatever they happen to be — players who change teams, coaches, TV shows, whatever,” he said.
“In the end, it comes down to playing good football, doing your job and being able to execute the plays better than your opponent. I think where this game is going to be won and lost is out on the field with the execution of the players as opposed to watching reality TV football.
“Our game plans will be formulated by what we feel like we can do in the game against the Jets, not some TV show.’’

When asked how he can “prevent’’ his defense from taking the Jets’ offense lightly after it struggled so much against Baltimore, Belichick said, “The Jets were in the AFC Championship game last year, so enough said.’’
