It’s been a rough week for New Orleans Saints cornerback P.J. Williams.

On Wednesday, days after the Saints controversially lost the NFC Championship to the Los Angeles Rams, Williams was arrested on a litany of charges, including driving while intoxicated, speeding, improper lane usage and failure to use a turn signal.

A rising free agent, Williams was stopped after driving 80 miles per hour in a 50-mph zone, refused a breath test, and was booked Wednesday morning, police said. He has since been released on bond.

Williams was arrested and charged with DUI after winning a national championship as a junior with Florida State in 2015, shortly before being drafted by New Orleans in the third round of the NFL draft. That charge was later dropped.

The Saints have acknowledged the arrest but have yet to comment.
