SOMETHING GOOD
The Jets’ first-team offense had its way against the second-team defense in a controlled scrimmage. QB Sam Darnold was on fire, completing 13-of-15 passes and throwing two short touchdowns. One of Darnold’s incompletions was a drop by Quincy Enunwa.
SOMETHING BAD
Kicker Chandler Catanzaro continues to struggle. He missed a point-after attempt and a 45-yard field goal during the scrimmage. The Jets may have to look for some other options at the position.
CAUGHT MY EYE
Valentine Holmes, a former Australian Rugby League player trying to make the Jets, was introduced to American football Saturday when he was hit hard twice. Holmes popped up after both hits, but his teammates were cringing when he got hit.
MEDICAL REPORT
LT Kelvin Beachum (ankle) did not practice. Coach Adam Gase said Beachum sprained his right ankle, but he does not expect him to miss much time. LB Harvey Langi was being evaluated for a knee injury. G Tyler Jones (calf) left practice early.
