He’s better with a football.

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez threw out the first pitch prior to the Angels’ game against the Twins last night, and the very objective Associated Press said, “His toss wasn’t even close to a strike.”

Sanchez admitted he was off target on his Twitter page.

“Just a bit outside,” he wrote. “It was a conservative 1st pitch, ball one; went from the stretch. And for the record I was throwing to a lefty hitter!”

The Southern California native was on hand to support the Hollenbeck Youth Program in East Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times wrote: “The quarterback’s throw? It was high and outside. Just like all the other pitchers in Anaheim of late, he started out behind in the count.”

Sanchez also has thrown out the first pitch prior to a Mets game at Citi Field.
