The wheels have officially come off the Seahawks’ 2017 season following Sunday’s 42-7 blowout loss at home to the Rams, resulting in two of the team’s biggest stars sparring in a high-profile war of words.
As the press gathered in the Seattle locker room, safety Earl Thomas told reporters that linebacker Bobby Wagner shouldn’t have played through a hamstring injury, which he sustained last week against the Jaguars.
“The backups would have done just as good,” Thomas said, via Gregg Bell of the News Tribune.
Wagner later snapped back at Thomas with a tweet, which has since been deleted.
“E keep my name out yo mouth. Stop being jealous of other people success. I still hope you keep balling bro,” Wagner tweeted.
The 8-6 Seahawks are on the outskirts of the playoff hunt, but the loss to Los Angeles all but ended their chances to win the division.
