PHILADELPHIA – It sounds as if the Giants grew just a bit tired of hearing about all that fearsome defensive pressure the Eagles are going to throw at Eli Manning this afternoon in an NFC wild-card playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field.

Reminded in ominous tones that the Eagles love to come with the blitz, left guard Rich Seubert feigned astonishment. “They do?” he asked.

The onus is on the Giants offensive line to deal with the heat. “The pressure is twofold,” center Shaun O’Hara said. “Either they’re going to make a big play or we’re gonna make a big play. They brought pressure on us the last play of the game down there and we threw to Plaxico [Burress] for a big score. Sometimes you welcome pressure because it provides opportunities for big plays.”

Rookie WR Sinorice Moss ran several deep patterns last week in Washington but two long throws by Manning did not connect. Still, Moss is getting stronger after an injury-riddled first season and with his speed, he could be an X-factor as a deep threat or a kick returner.

“I don’t think it will necessarily make up for anything but I want to come out and make a play, help the team,” Moss said.

Manning was dreadful in his first playoff appearance, throwing three interceptions in last year’s 23-0 drubbing by the Panthers. Did he learn anything from that misery?

“You’ve just got to get to the point where if things start off bad or start off slow, you can’t try to force things,” Manning said. “That’s when mistakes happen.” No one involved in that debacle forgot how much it hurt. “We came out at home last year and embarrassed ourselves, embarrassed our fans, embarrassed the Giants organization and everybody in New York who pulled for the Giants,” RB Brandon Jacobs said.

Burress had just two 100-yard receiving games this season, both vs. the Eagles. He caught 12 passes for 234 yards in the two games.
