DK Metcalf’s visit to Baltimore took an unexpected detour Sunday.
The Steelers receiver, 27, was taken to the hospital following the team’s 27-22 road victory over the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium after “experiencing stomach pains,” the team said in a statement on Monday.
Metcalf was expected to return to Pittsburgh on Monday.

Pittsburgh, coming off a horrific showing against the Bills in Week 13 that had fans calling for coach Mike Tomlin’s job, claimed the top slot in the AFC North standings after Sunday’s win, which put the Steelers above .500 at 7-6.
“Awesome team win,” Tomlin said. “I’m just appreciative of the effort of the men in that locker room. It’s classic Steelers vs. Ravens.”
Metcalf, in the first year of a five-year, $150 million deal with the club, lauded Tomlin afterward following a week filled with speculation about the longtime coach’s job security.

“‘Coach T’ is a great leader for us, and he’s done nothing but take the bullets for us,” Metcalf said. “Even when we were high or when we were low, every day he’s steady [and] always motivated us to play our best ball.”
The Steelers have four games remaining in the regular season, including a rematch against the Ravens on Jan. 4.
Metcalf has hauled in five touchdowns for 753 yards through 13 games.
The Steelers return to action next Monday in prime time against the Dolphins.
