The start to the new league year Monday seemingly had star Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs thinking about his future.

Diggs, 26, cryptically tweeted, “It’s time for a new beginning” on Monday afternoon.

The peculiar tweet comes just days after Diggs was spotted working out in Arizona Cardinals gear in a video captured by NFL Update.

Diggs, who is under contract through 2023 at $14.4 million per year according to the website Spotrac, removed all Vikings content from his social media account nearly a month ago. He tweeted, “Things getting interesting…” just days before the deletions.

In early February, Diggs posted more ambiguous messages to Twitter, writing, “People don’t appreciate things until they’re gone” and “business is business.”

However, Vikings GM Rick Spielman is under the impression the former fifth-round pick out of Maryland will remain with the organization for a sixth season.

“Stefon, last year, had probably his most productive year,” Spielman told reporters recently at the 2020 NFL Combine. “He’s a young receiver we just extended. He’s not only a major part of our offense and a major part of our organization winning games, but he also does a lot of things for this organization off the field, as well.

“There’s no reason, or the rumors or whatever you’re talking about, to anticipate that Stefon Diggs is not going to be a Minnesota Viking.”

Diggs’ plea came hours after another star receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, was dealt from the Texans to the Cardinals for David Johnson.

Diggs, who signed a five-year, $72 million extension with the Vikings in July 2018, finished the 2019 season with 63 receptions for 1,130 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
