Stefon Diggs appears to be using his wardrobe to send a message.
On Wednesday, the 26-year-old wide receiver was spotted working out in Cardinals gear, according to a video captured by NFL Update on Twitter. It comes with with the new league year starting Monday and the potential for Diggs, who is under contract for 2023, to be a part of rampant trade speculation again.
The curious choice in shirts comes less than a month after Diggs removed all Minnesota Vikings content from his social media accounts. He also tweeted, “Things getting interesting…,” days prior to the scrub.
Despite Diggs’ not-so-veiled messages, Vikings GM Rick Spielman said he believes the wideout will be on the roster this year.
“There is no reason to anticipate that Stefon Diggs is not going to be a Minnesota Viking,” he said, according to Bleacher Report.
Originally selected by the Vikings in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Diggs later signed a five-year, $72 million contract extension in July 2018.
He finished the 2019 season with 63 receptions for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns.
