TEXANS (-5) over Jaguars: It has been a rough couple of weeks for the Houston area with football potentially being a positive distraction for the Hurricane Harvey victims. The defending AFC South champs have dominated this series over the past three years with a 10-point average margin of victory. With the line somewhat cheap in our opinion, we’ll back the Texans as they’ve displayed a solid 9-2 against-the-spread mark as a home favorite dating back to 2015.

PACKERS (-3) over Seahawks: Marquee matchup for Week 1 with both teams entering the 2017 campaign with Super Bowl aspirations. Though the Seahawks have had some recent success in the underdog role with a current 10-3 ATS mark, the Packers have been absolutely dominant in home openers the past 10 seasons with an 8-1- 1 ATS record. With the home team having covered each of the past five regular-season meetings (20-point average margin of victory), we’ll back Aaron Rodgers and company here.
