Larry David has been offering up critiques of the Jets in recent interviews, so Wednesday he checked out his favorite football team up close.

David, the creator of “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” watched Jets practice from the sideline. David recently said he thinks he can be the team’s offensive coordinator and implored quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to trim his beard, which he did.

Fitzpatrick and David chatted after practice. Fitzpatrick told David about his acting experience on the fantasy football show “The League.”

“I said it’s a lot like a normal person thinking they can come in and be an offensive coordinator,” Fitzpatrick quipped. “I actually got him to chuckle, which was great. That was my goal for the day. That was pretty cool. I loved that show [Seinfeld] growing up and even still. It was great meeting someone so creative.”

On the beard: “Yeah, we hashed it out,” Fitzpatrick said.

David spent a good portion of practice watching with Jets owner Woody Johnson. He also spent time with general manager Mike Maccagnan.
