What happened when Patriots fan Jim Podanoffsky posed for a photo w/Goodell at the Jim Kelly Golf Tournament… pic.twitter.com/VzIaBTyDG0

A Patriots diehard got the chance to meet NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and his middle finger got a bit over-inflated.
The photograph making the internet rounds would perfectly encapsulate the Patriots fan base’s antagonism with Goodell, who has stuck with a protracted legal fight to take away the franchise’s first-round draft pick and suspend quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games of the 2016 season over his role in last decade’s (no, it just feels that way) Deflategate scandal. Except the photo’s co-star regrets taking it.
“It was a joke … a spur-of-the-moment thing,” Jim Podanoffsky told The Post on Tuesday, nervously coming to grips with his profane viral moment.
The photo op came Monday when Goodell attended Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly’s 30th annual charity golf tournament in Batavia, NY, outside of Buffalo. The event raises money for the cancer survivor’s Kelly for Kids Foundation.
“I posted a comment [on Facebook] before any of this went out of hand about what a nice guy he was,” the Pats fan said. “Just a real down-to-earth guy, not at all what I expected.”
