Fireworks aren’t just reserved for the Browns’ sideline.

During Sunday’s season finale against the Bengals, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was caught on camera sparring with fans after being heckled about potentially losing to a 1-14 team.

“Why don’t you come down here and tell me that to my face?” Mayfield replied.

Though the fan responded, “We’re not allowed to, you know that,” the fiery exchange kicked off what became a dismal end to the Browns’ 2019 season, as Cincinnati defeated Cleveland, 33-23.

Following the game, Cleveland brass fired head coach Freddie Kitchens, who fell far short of expectations — 6-10, to be exact — in his first year at the helm.

Mayfield, who will soon be playing for his fourth head coach to open his third season, has wife Emily Wilkinson’s support amid trying times in Cleveland.

Wilkinson posted a sweet message to Mayfield on Instagram Sunday, emphasizing how “proud” she is of her husband.

“Disappointing season… but still couldn’t be more proud of this guy, and the class he has shown through it all,” Wilkinson posted Sunday to Instagram. “So few could do what you do, Bake. I love you and I’m forever grateful to be your wife.”

The couple tied the knot in July.
