Three things to watch for in the Jets’ preseason opener against the Eagles on Friday night in Philadelphia:

Carl Lawson will be back in a game for the first time since the first preseason game last year. He tore his Achilles tendon and was lost for the season a few days after that game. Lawson likely won’t play much, but it’s notable that he will be on the field at all.

The Jets made waves in the draft in April with the selection of Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson and Jermaine Johnson in the first round, and Breece Hall in the second round. All are expected to play Friday. Can any of them turn heads in their debuts?

Denzel Mims should get plenty of playing time. Could the Jets try to move the 2020 second-round pick in a trade before the season? It makes sense. If Mims can put some good plays on tape, it would make it easier to deal him.
