The Jets’ general manager search should be wrapped up soon.

Coach/interim GM Adam Gase gave an update on the search Tuesday and said he hopes they have the GM hired before the team breaks for the summer at the end of next week.

“I hope so because it would be nice to do that,” Gase said. “But at the end of the day, however long it takes us to get the right guy, that’s what we’re going to do.”

The Jets interviewed four candidates to replace Mike Maccagnan over recent days — Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer, Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot, Eagles vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas and Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly.

Douglas is considered the favorite to land the job by people around the NFL. Gase was in on all of the interviews and said now the decision is in the hands of team CEO and chairman Christopher Johnson.

“We went through some interviews this weekend,” Gase said. “Those guys did a great job. It was a great process we’ve gone through so far. We’ll just keep huddling up and figuring out where we’re at with that until Christopher’s ready to make a decision. Once that happens, you guys will obviously know about that quickly.”

WR Robby Anderson is setting his goals high this year. He has said he believes he can be an elite receiver in the NFL.

“The first couple of years I used to think 100 yards was good. For what I want to be — an elite, top-five receiver — that’s not good,” Anderson said. “I’m setting higher goals for myself.”

Anderson, entering his fourth year, was asked why he believes he can be elite.

“I feel like I’ve proven it,” Anderson said. “I’ve had big games.”

Anderson, who will be a free agent after this season, said he just needs the targets to produce at the level he expects.

“If you check the games when I get those types of targets I have those types of games and do explosive things,” he said.

Rookie DL Quinnen Williams (calf) was limited in practice again like he has been for OTAs. Williams did get some team reps with the third-team defense and was in position to get a sack if tackling was allowed in the practice.

Marcus Maye (shoulder) was in a red no-contact jersey for seven-on-seven drills. He did not participate in team drills.
