Here is our daily practice update from Jets training camp:
Something good
Kicker Chandler Catanzaro has had a rough training camp, but he had a solid day Monday, hitting 5-of-6 field goal attempts. His only miss was from 42 yards and went off the upright. His longest of the day was from 53.
Something bad
The offense looked really lethargic. Maybe it was the day off. Maybe it was Gregg Williams’ defense. QB Sam Darnold struggled, going 6-for-14 in team drills with an interception, his second of camp.
Caught my eye
Undrafted rookie CB Kyron Brown has climbed the depth chart. Brown is working with the second team and got some first team reps when Trumaine Johnson was out last week. Brown, who played at Akron, is a sleeper to make the roster.
Medical report
DL Leonard Williams was held out of practice with hip “irritation,” according to coach Adam Gase. … LT Kelvin Beachum (ankle) returned to practice after missing Saturday.
