The Giants may have had no shot, but Bruce Arians apparently needed one.

The recently retired Cardinals head coach, who sparked the Nick Saban-to-Giants rumors on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Tuesday afternoon, went out that night and apparently divulged after a few drinks that he had fabricated the Saban report.

“After a few vodkas Arians said he was just messin [with] the world about #nickSaban to the @nygiants,” Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer said on Instagram Wednesday, attached to a picture of himself, Arians and recently fired Bears coach John Fox at a bar.

“Now,hmmm was that the Vodka talking? Bruce talking? Orrrr… a combo of the two.”

After Arians said Saban, the six-time national champion in college after his most recent title with Alabama, “covets” the Giants job, a source told The Post that Saban had expressed zero interest.

The claim by the longtime college and NFL coach appeared to come out of nowhere; Arians had never coached with Saban, though he was an Alabama assistant in 1981-82 and 1997. Now we know why.
