They took different routes, but they both made it.

Eric Pinkins, a linebacker and special-teams weapon for the Giants, and Christine Michael, a reserve running back and special-teams weapon for the Packers, saw their paths intersect Sunday in Green Bay, and were they excited.

The two former Seahawks pals spotted each other after a first-quarter punt, jumping and chest-bumping after the whistle was blown. It was an odd sight for two ostensible enemies on the field, but clearly friends off of it.

Pinkins spent 2014 and 2015 with Seattle as a teammate of Michael’s, who began his career in 2013 with the Seahawks, with whom he’s spent most of his professional time. He’s also had a cup of coffee with Dallas and now with Green Bay.

Seattle cut Pinkins early this season, and he made his way from the Giants’ practice squad to active roster. Friends in Seattle have left their first NFL home and reached the postseason, a heartwarming aside to a brutal game.
