The true loser of Monday’s Wisconsin-Duke NCAA championship game may have been Rory McIlroy.
The golf stud’s ex-fiancée, Caroline Wozniacki, cheered alongside NFL star J.J. Watt, a monstrous figure even in a sport of them, as Duke upended Wisconsin, 68-63, for the national title. By the end of the night, Twitter was about ready to wed the two after they frequently were shown on camera, generally laughing and enjoying themselves.
Watt, an affable defensive lineman for the Texans, played at Wisconsin from 2009 to 2010, so his Badgers pride was understandable. Wozniacki’s was less obvious, but there are worse things to do with a Monday night than sidle up to a cabin-dwelling, quarterback-sacking freak.
The pals’ NCAA bonding culminated quite a day for Wozniacki, who spent her Monday afternoon with the president of the United States (really!) during the annual Easter Egg Roll in Washington.
