Not even a week after history was made at the Stanley Cup Final, the NHL offseason is moving full speed ahead with the 2019 Entry Draft this Friday.

With a total of 217 picks, forward Jack Hughes, and Kaapo Kakko fall in the top two to cross-Hudson River rivals in the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers.

Where is the 2019 NHL draft?

This year’s draft will take place at Rogers Arena, the home of the Vancouver Canucks, in Vancouver, British Columbia. This will be the first time Vancouver has hosted the event since 2006.

When is the 2019 NHL draft?

This year, the draft begins Friday June 21, at 8 p.m. ET, featuring the first round. The draft resumes Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. ET, featuring rounds 2-7.

Round 1 will air live on NBC Sports Network and the NHL Network, and streamed on NBCSports.com

How does the NHL draft work?

The first 15 picks were decided by a draft lottery consisting of teams that did not make the postseason. The remaining 16 positions were decided by a combination of regular season finish and playoff exit. The full first-round order can be found here.

Eligible players are aged 18-20, though non-North American players over 20 are also available.

Who are the top prospects?
