Thousands of fans turned Chicago into a giant party after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup.

Streets in the Wrigleyville neighborhood north of downtown were packed with celebrating fans and even the ice at the United Center remained filled with players, friends and family 90 minutes after the Game 6 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Up next for the Blackhawks: A Stanley Cup championship parade at a date to be determined — their third in the past six seasons.

Let’s go TP the coach’s house!

Coach Joel Quenneville’s home and front yard in Hinsdale got seriously decorated by a crowd of approximately 150 elated Chicagoans. Don’t worry: A neighbor told the Chicago Tribune local kids would clean up the toilet paper … in a couple of days.

Joy in Wrigleyville

Thousands of fans spilled out into the streets from bars near Wrigley Field. They might have been even wilder had rain not forced the postponement of the Cubs’ Monday night home game against the Cleveland Indians.

The icecapades

Chicago clinched a championship at home for the first time since 1938 and won its third title with Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Quenneville leading the way.

Duncan Keith, the Blackhawks’ iron man, gave Chicago a 1-0 lead when he knocked in his own rebound with 2:47 left in the second period. Kane made it 2-0 in the third when he scored on a one-timer on a three-on-two rush with 5:13 left.
