Boston Bruins star winger David Pastrnak announced Monday morning that his newborn son has died.
Viggo Pastrnak was born on June 17. He lived for 6 days before passing away on June 23. The Pastrnaks shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram.
“We have an Angel watching over us and we call him SON. You will be loved FOREVER,” Pastrnak captioned the photo. “Please respect our privacy as we are going through these heartbreaking times.”
“We are heartbroken by the passing of David and Rebecca’s son, Viggo,” the Bruins said in a statement. “David and Rebecca are a part of our family and we share in their loss. Please keep them in your thoughts and respect their privacy during this very difficult time.”

Last season, he won the Maurice Richard Trophy winner, given to the top goal-scorer in the league, ending the 2020 season with a total of 48 goals.
