DiPietro to see doctor
By DAN MARTIN
Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro will go see a doctor about his knee on Monday after he was injured in the Islanders 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Saturday.
DiPietro left the match after allowing two first period goals. Despite his shaky performance, head coach Scott Gordon said that the move was not based on DiPietro’s performance and that it was injury related.
In the meantime, the Islanders have called up goaltender Yann Danis under emergency conditions. But if DiPietro is unable to go tomorrow night against the Rangers, Joey MacDonald would likely get the start.
