Former Devils Stanley Cup champion Bill Guerin has joined the Pittsburgh Penguins as a player development coach.
The 18-year veteran retired in 2010 after playing for the Penguins during his last two seasons. He also was captain of the Islanders.
The Penguins said Wednesday the 40-year-old would work with prospects throughout the organization, assisting in the development of players in the minor leagues along with junior and college hockey.
Guerin had 429 goals and 427 assists in his career and won a Stanley Cups with the Devils (1995) and Penguins (2009). The right winger also played for the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks.
