Joe Thornton had a wacky response to Sharks teammate Tomas Hertl’s highlight-reel goal against the Rangers.
Hertl’s fourth goal on Tuesday night – midway through the third period, making the score 8-2 in favor of the Sharks – was a nifty, between-the-legs drop shot.
Thornton overheard a question addressed to Patrick Marleau about whether the 19-year-old Hertl was showboating – as some have contended — and interjected in colorful locker-room fashion.
“Shut up, have you ever played the game?” he asked the group of reporters, according to The Province of Vancouver. “I’d have my c–k out if I scored four goals. I’d have my c–k out, stroking it.”
One shudders to think what Thornton would do if he scored five goals.
